A worksheet for Team Expansion
Missionaries preparing for departure
Introduction
Before Team Expansion missionaries depart for the field
they need to meet with a representative of International
Services. This meeting provides a last chance for us to
insure that the prospective field worker has taken care of
all the myriad of details that need to be covered prior to
departure. It also provides us with a chance to make sure
our personnel files are complete as well as provide the new worker one last opportunity for input and questions to be
answered.
When is the best time for this
pre-departure interview?
Unquestionably, it is important to allow some time
between the interview and the actual departure. We recommend
that the missionary schedule the Pre-departure interview one
month before departure to the field.
Where should the interview take place?
The pre-departure interviews usually take place at the
offices of International Services. This allows the worker to
gain a better sense of those who are standing side by side
with him or her in the Home Office.
