Thank you for your interest in serving with Team Expansion! We look forward to talking with you further about the passion God has given you for world-wide evangelism; and we also look forward to the great things God has in store for us as we partner together to advance the Kingdom!

We have developed this application with the hope and prayer that it would serve as a tool - not only for getting to know you but also for assessing your spiritual gifts, your needs and your hopes. Some of the questions asked on this application are of a more personal nature. So we want to take just a moment to assure you that no question on this application is to be regarded as a basis for accepting you to or rejecting you from this organization. Our only desire is to determine how we may best work together and how our organization can best assist you as you seek to serve God in a cross-cultural setting.

The following steps are written to assist you in the application process. Please understand that each step listed is vital to the process. Partial application packets cannot be accepted!

1. Home Church Contact

Contact your home church minister or elders (or the leadership of the church you are currently attending). This will insure that your home church knows your desire and will allow them to give you guidance, support, and nurturing.

2. Application Form

Complete this application online if you like! Read the "Seven Key Principles." These principles cover the fundamental structure of Team Expansion and it is important to us that you will be able to agree to and work within these principles. Mark the appropriate response on the application. (Note those who are married need to fill out separate applications, self-evaluations, and even obtain separate recommendations & transcripts -- though they pay only one application fee. Also note that married applicants to the "home office" follow this approach as well, even though the spouse is not going to be working regularly in the office.)

3. Complete the Self-Evaluation Form

The Self-Evaluation Form helps us get complete information about each applicant so we can speed the process along. Information on this form is not used to make a decision to accept or reject the applicant, but only to complete our internal database. Thanks for your help in speeding your file along!

4. Obtain 4 Recommendations

Distribute your 4 recommendation forms (1 to your minister, 1 to a professional/academic contact, and 2 to personal contacts). Please do not use a relative as any of your recommenders. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully. (Note that the recommenders return them to you in sealed envelopes -- then you send the whole packet to us. That way you can be sure it's all been completed together.)

5. PATHWAYS/QUEST Form (for PATHWAYS Summer Internships and QUEST only)

Complete these forms if you're applying for a summer internship or the Quest.

6. Transcripts

Contact the college(s) you have attended (if applicable) and request that a copy of your transcripts be sent to you. That way, you can send them on to us as soon as they arrive -- and you'll know they've been sent. Note that if the college can send an "advisor's copy", that'll be fine. They need not be a formal academic edition.

7. Letter from Parents (if under18)

If you are under 18, obtain a letter of consent from your parents. Please ask them to write this letter and have them place it in an envelope. Finally, have them seal the envelope and sign their names over the seal before returning the letter of consent to you.

8. Photos(optional)

Obtain 2 color photos. We ask that these photos be somewhere between the sizes of 2" x 2" and 5" x 7", placed between two thin layers of cardboard taped together to insure safe mailing. We will not be able to return these to you. Make sure these pictures are suitable for visa applications, in case we need to use them for that purpose some time in the future. Passport-quality, portrait-style would be best.

9. Pay the application fee

It takes literally hours to communicate effectively with people. In addition, we ship out special books and resources to you (like People-Raising, a handbook on how to raise your financial and prayer support) as a part of the acceptance process. Your application fee helps us recover a portion of these and other expenses on your behalf. It's a non-refundable fee, even if you change your mind and decide not to continue in the process. If for some reason you aren't accepted for a particular year, it automatically rolls over to cover your application to a future year/experience. Or simply send a check for $50 made out to Team Expansion to our Contact Address.

10. Send us the Packet

Once you have completed your application, regardless of whether or not you do it on the web, there will be parts you'll have to send in by postal mail. So, simply confirm that all steps on this checklist have been completed, via one form or another.
