Nine Steps
to Begin Your Quest
1. Profile
Fill out a profile to begin the process. It just takes a couple of minutes and there’s no obligation. It’s a no-pressure way to start a conversation about your calling.
2. Phone Interview
Let’s get to know each other! We’ll schedule a time to chat and learn more about you and your calling. We’ll answer your questions and we’ll make sure Team Expansion is the right fit for the work God has placed on your heart.
3. Application
Now you’re ready for the full application. After working with thousands of missionaries across four decades, we know the questions we need to ask. It’s all part of making sure you thrive when you make it to your field.
4. Attend Launch
Once your application is approved, you will be invited to attend the next Launch Training. This two-week intensive training covers all of the basics: support raising, an introduction to Team Expansion, cross-cultural adjustment, and much more.
5. Support Raising
After Launch, we’ll let you know when you’re officially approved to begin support raising. It’s often a 6-18 month long process to reach 100% of your needed support. We’ll be coaching you and praying with you all along the way.
6. Additional Training
While you’re support raising, you’ll also attend any additional trainings that will help you thrive on the field. These may include: Kairos (God’s heart for the nations), Jonathan Traning (Discipleship Training), CHE (Community Health Evangelism), and others.
7. Pre-Departure Interview
You’re 100% funded. You’re trained. We’ll have a final pre-departure interview to make sure everything is in order before you purchase your plane tickets and head to your new home.
8. Purchase Tickets
You have your visas and passports. You’re getting packed and ready. It’s been a long journey, but God used all of it to strengthen your calling and build a strong foundation of preparation, prayer, and support.
9. Departure
All the months (years?) of preparation have led you to this moment. It’s full of mixed emotions, but it’s the beginning of God’s incredible new adventure for you. We’ll still be alongside you, praying and supporting however we can.

FAQs
Q: Who is Quest for?
A: College age students, young adults, retirees, and everyone in-between. Are you looking to explore missions or a missionary calling? Let us help you get your feet wet with a Quest Apprenticeship.
Q: Will I get to choose my field?
A: Yes, as long as the team serving in the field accepts you and we do not see any type of future complications; we try to give you as much freedom as possible. This is about you exploring so that God is ultimately glorified and the unreached can become reached. We are merely door openers that guide you on this process.
Q: How is a budget created?/How much will I have to raise?
A: This is personalized to you, we cannot create a one-size-fits-all budget for every Apprenticeship. We will give you counsel and connect you with field workers to help you create a budget that is applicable for you in your field.
Q: What are prerequisites to going?
A: As a Quest Apprentice, we treat you as a fulltime worker so that when your tenure comes to a close, it is nearly seamless for you to remain fulltime. If God confirms a calling while on the field, then all you would have to do is raise the additional funds and you’re good to go. We require all workers to partake in our Launch Training (Learning Team Expansion’s DNA and Support Raising), Kairos (God’s mission and his heart for the Unreached), and Jonathan Training (practical tools to make disciples who make disciples on the mission field here and abroad) prior to leaving for the field.
Q: Will I need a Visa? Vaccinations?
A: Depending on the field and your length of stay, odds are, a visa will be required. Vaccinations depend solely on the field that you will be going to.
Q: Will I need to know the language prior to departure?
A: It is not required, but would not hurt to do some studying prior. With that said, much of your first year on the field will be language study.
Q: What happens if something goes wrong?
A: From lost baggage to natural disasters, overseas travel carries a lot of variables. Team Expansion works to be ready for anything that might happen, and we cover our workers in prayer. We’ve already started praying!
