Guardians of MK Treasures

We give thanks for Penny (and Heather Harris) who invest time, energy, and thought into the children of our cross-cultural workers. When they visit the office, their moms and dads often meet with our strategy planners, I.T. personnel, and member care folks... and Heather and Penny partner together for the good of kids. We give thanks for their selfless sacrifice and their love for little ones! Thank you Lord!

Thanks to Crossroads Christian Church!

Hats off to Crossroads Christian Church (Evansville, IN) for sending us the brilliant load of office partitions, desks, and hardware! Rick Lowry, along with his son, Bryant, brought them over today in a big box truck. From the looks of it, it seemed as if there were enough partition panels to create 10-12 offices. We already have enough partitions in the Hopewell House to make another 8. It's possible that when we add those all together, we'll have enough partitions for the entire new Prayer Center & Atrium set-up (where we'll office for the first couple of years at Emerald Hills). We're not sure how much this gift is worth financially, but we know what it meant to us personally. What a boost! And since Rick is the Chairman of the Leadership Task Force (Team Expansion's Board of Directors), it was a special encouragement, since he accompanied us back to the office and spoke to our entire staff at a luncheon in the crowded little mini-auditorium there.

Thanks Crossroads Christian!

Prayer Center & Atrium Going up Fast!

Thanks for your prayers for the Prayer Center & Atrium at Emerald Hills! See the building go up fast at...

http://photoserver.zenfolio.com/p229188669?photo=h0A4A4957#172640599

Just click on the thumbnail pictures on the right to see the large photo in the middle, along with captions by Emily Heeringa, a member of Int'l Services in Louisville working on grant proposals for Emerald Hills and projects in the field.

Thanks to all who are helping make this possible.

By the way, out of the 29 partners for which we're praying (in "Project 29"), we have 20 already committed. If you know of anyone willing to take one or more of those last 9 slots (to help undergird this project and the future of Emerald Hills), please contact Team Expansion today!

Thanks again.
Doug

NACC, Em. Hills, Caleb to the Army

Thanks for walking the world with us in prayer! We continue to be excited about the results of the prayer journey to Spain. God is definitely at work as He helps bring about this new venture. Please continue to lift up Chris & Nicia as they prepare to lead this new work. Thank the Lord for a successful set of prayer walks in Granada. Pray for additional teammates for Chris & Nicia. Ask the Lord for guidance as they dream, plan, and strategize for the future.

Here are a couple of other requests and praises....
*** Join us in thanking God for a great outcome at the North American Christian Convention. The "flow" at the Team Expansion booth seemed higher than ever for a NACC. We were able to talk to several prospective recruits. Several filled out follow-up cards and one worker even filled out all his paperwork to request the chance to join Team Expansion full time. Exciting convention.

*** This is the big week! The log package is slated to arrive and the walls of the new Prayer Center & Atrium will start rising, Lord willing, this very week! Please continue to watch ...
http://www.emeraldhills.info/ and www.teamexpansion.org/lucases for pictures and updates.

*** Thanks for your prayers for Caleb as he enters his final week of preparation for shipping out to begin training as a U.S. Army Ranger. We've opened up a special prayer request group specifically for those who would like to pray for him as he tackles the rigors of this challenging track. If you'd like to join that list, please send an email to:
support-squad-subscribe@googlegroups.com
The contents of the email don't matter. (The email can be blank, in fact.) The process is fairly automated. You should receive a confirmation email back in your inbox within a minute or two. Just follow the instructions and we'll be sure to add you to the list. Or, if you prefer, just write Doug and he'll add you manually, if that's easier.

Once you're on the list of Caleb's Support Squad, you'll be able to lift him up in prayer on a weekly basis. (Under normal circumstances, you'll receive a prayer request no more than once a week.) Thanks for helping him in this way.

Either way, please do pray for his mental and spiritual preparation. Pray also for him physically. Ask God to keep him injury-free; pray that the Lord would strengthen all his muscles, ligaments, and bones for the next 9 months of strict, difficult, and even dangerous training.

Pray for Penny (and Doug too :-) ) as he leaves this week. His commitment is 4 1/2 years, but if things go well, it might be a career of service as a U.S. Army Ranger.

Thanks for your prayers!
